Highways Minister Don McMorris says a company called ACS Public Sector Solutions will have the mobile units in work zones within a few weeks.

McMorris says it’s an important step to improve work zone safety.

The province has already given highway transport patrol officers the ability to hand out tickets and increased fines for speeding in work zones.

The measures come after an 18-year-old flag worker was struck and killed on her first day on the job last August.

A Regina man is charged with criminal negligence causing death and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death in that case.
