Group rallies in support of tearing down the viaducts

Supporters of a City of Vancouver plan to remove the viaducts held a rally today in Chinatown to show their support.

The group believes that tearing down the viaducts could help improve conditions for Chinatown businesses.

They also point to the possibility that affordable and subsidized housing could be built on land freed up by the demolition.

However, opponents are worried traffic could increase through Strathcona.

The city’s final decision on the viaducts could take another two years.
