SASKATOON- The federal government announced $85,000 for the 2013 SaskTel Saskatchewan Jazz Festival, already serenading downtown Saskatoon.

For ten days a year, over 80,000 residents are treated to the sounds of jazz, blues, funk and pop at the Jazz festival.

“I encourage all Saskatoon residents and visitors to take part in this festival, since festivals such as this one provide high-quality musical experiences that bring vitality and creativity to our community,” said Lynne Yelich, Minister of State for Western Economic Diversification.

Visitors to Saskatchewan’s largest festival will have the opportunity to experience high-calibre performances from artists like Herbie Hancock and City and Colour, as well as some of the best Canadian performers in jazz.

Music fans will be able to take in performances at a variety of outdoor and indoor venues throughout Saskatoon until Canada Day.
