KELOWNA – It’s been helping women for just shy of 20 years and now the Kelowna Gospel Mission’s Harmony House needs some help of its own.

Purchased back in 1995, the house is in need of some upgrades. The big ticket project this year, a new roof.

“Everyone needs a roof over their head, both figuratively and literally and it’s time to replace the roof here” says Randy Benson, Executive Director of the Kelowna Union Gospel Mission.

It’s a costly job, estimated at $10-thousand dollars, but with a large donation from Vantage West Reality today, the Gospel Mission is two thirds of the way to its fundraising goal.

Vantage West, donating money from home sales for the month of June, cutting a cheque for $3,300. The company plans to add more to that total at the end of the month.

Benson is looking to replace the roof later this year.

Harmony House is a supportive long term home for women in addiction recovery. Benson estimates it helps 25-30 women get back on their feet every year.
