A four year old boy and his two year old sister are in hospital after a vehicle they were playing in started to move. The two children were playing with their five year old sister Thursday afternoon in a running van when a witness says the older girl accidentally put the van in reverse.
The startled children then reportedly jumped out, but the two younger children were injured by the moving van. They were transported to the University of Alberta Hospital – the boy by STARS and his sister by ground ambulance.
The children were initially placed in intensive care, but by Thursday evening their conditions had been upgraded and they are being kept in hospital under observation.
No charges have been laid and RCMP continue to investigate.
