SMITHS CREEK, NB — A body was discovered in an abandoned vehicle off the Carsonville Road in Smiths Creek on Tuesday afternoon.
A person working in the woods found the body shortly after 1:30 pm and Sussex RCMP were called in to investigate.

The heavily wooded area is about 25 km north of Sussex.
Police taped cordoned off the area and a rescue vehicle retrieved the remains.
RCMP’s Forensive Identification Section, the coroner’s officer, and several firefighters were on scene.
An autopsy will be performed to assist in determining the person’s identity andcause of death.
