Majority of voters have some concern over NDP spending plans

It appears that the BC Liberals’ strategy of criticizing ambitious spending plans by the BC NDP is working.

An exclusive Ipsos Reid poll commissioned by Global News shows a total of 64 per cent of people have some concern about an NDP government “overspending and driving up the provincial debt.”

39 per cent of people said they were concerned and that it would make them less likely to vote NDP, while 25 per cent said they were concerned, but it wouldn’t affect their vote.

31 per cent said they were not concerned and five per cent said they didn’t know.

The NDP’s plan to freeze ferry fares while an audit is performed from May 2013 to March 2015 is also supported by the majority of voters.

A total of 72 per cent think it’s a good idea, with 31 per cent of those saying it would make them more likely to vote NDP and 41 per cent saying it wouldn’t affect their vote.
