HALIFAX – Unionized support staff at Nova Scotia’s Universite Sainte-Anne have reached a tentative contract agreement with the school.
The Nova Scotia Government and General Employees Union is recommending acceptance of a deal including wage increases of 1.75 per cent retroactive to July 1, 2012, 1.5 per cent beginning July 1 of this year and two per cent on July, 1 2014.
There will also be a decrease in pension contributions from 10.5 per cent to 8.5 per cent with an agreement to review by Jan. 1.
The deal also includes a small increase in severance pay.
The 55 workers include carpenters and electricians along with library and administrative staff.
