Many around the world were wondering which Donald Trump would show up for the U.S. presidential address to the United Nations Tuesday.

The presidential Trump, or the Twitter Trump.

It turns out we got a bit of both.

I watched the first part of the speech, then only listened to the rest.

I was amazed at how much better the Donald translated without having the visual.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

Which makes me wonder: if any other leader had delivered the same speech, would it be interpreted differently?

Trump has already been pigeonholed as an uneducated bull in a china shop, and rightly so.

His tone at the United Nations was tough, but many thought Trump said what had to be said.

Unfortunately, it’s coming from a guy that creates so much confusion and divisiveness, the message gets lost in his own circus sideshow.

Calling Kim Jong-u n ‘Rocket Man’ on Twitter is one thing, doing it on a United Nation’s stage is another.

Although it may draw some chuckles under one’s breath, it is not the way to discuss international affairs, especially when the topic is nuclear war.

Once one lowers themselves to insulting the individual, instead of the politics or policy, they are no better than those they are insulting.

As always, Trump is proving to be his own worst enemy.

One Trump forward, two Trumps back.
