Construction is now starting on a new clubhouse, which will have the same features as the original one.

Loon Lake Golf Club has leased the land from the Saskatchewan government since the mid-1980s.

Government officials said Loon Lake Golf Club will continue to develop and operate the golf course.

Plans are being made by the government to enter into agreements with the organization for the development and operation of the clubhouse and to extend the terms of the current lease.

The total cost to rebuild the clubhouse is covered by insurance.

If all goes according to plan, the new clubhouse should be ready to use for the 2018 golf season.
