Sunny weather shifts out and is replaced by rain and much cooler temperatures.
Special Air Quality Statement Ended for Saskatoon
Environment Canada has ended a special air quality statement for Saskatoon, but remains in place in other parts of Saskatchewan for elevated pollution levels.
Smoke is beginning to clear out of southern Saskatchewan Tuesday afternoon as winds shift to the north in the wake of a cold front sweeping through the province.
Smoke and poor air quality will improve in the southeastern part of the province later Tuesday evening as the cold front continues to push eastward, however, satellite imagery shows a new plume of smoke from the fires around Waterton, Alberta now moving into the southwestern part of the province.
The air quality advisory will thus remain in effect for the southern part of the province as this new plume of smoke spreads eastward.

Saskatoon Forecast
Today
5 degrees was where Saskatoon started off the day this morning with lots of sunshine to start the day.
A few more clouds built in as the day went on as we warmed up 23 degrees by noon as a breezy northerly wind kicked in with a cold front, picking up gusts in excess of 40 km/h.
A few more clouds will filter through this afternoon as we rise up another degree or so into the mid 20s as breezy winds continue.
Tonight
That northerly flow will continue tonight as clouds build back in and we dip back a few degrees into single digits.
Wednesday
It’ll be a wet start to Wednesday with rain from the early morning easing off into the early afternoon.
As the cold front continues to slide south, so will the cool conditions, making it a struggle to get into the low teens with a breezy northeasterly wind into the afternoon.
Thursday-Friday
A big upper trough will sit over our area for the rest of the week, keeping us in the clouds with a very slight chance of rain.
Daytime highs will continue to strive to make it into the low teens with morning lows dipping back to just a few degrees above freezing.
Weekend Outlook
Overcast skies will stick around to start the weekend with a slightly better chance of rain on Saturday before we could get back into some sun on Sunday with highs in the low-to-mid double digits.
