Nirvana’s iconic Reading Festival 1992 performance is on YouTube

It’s been 25 years since Nirvana performed at the Reading Festival in 1992 and fans consider it to be one of their most memorable moments. It also happens to be their last ever U.K. performance.

Surprisingly, Dave Grohl expected the worst. “We rehearsed [for Reading] once, the night before, and it wasn’t good. I really thought, ‘This will be a disaster, this will be the end of our career for sure.’ And then it turned out to be a wonderful show, and it healed us for a little while.”

The setlist for the concert was epic. The band sang their classics like Breed, Sliver, In Bloom and Smells Like Teen Spirit (but not before playing Boston’s More Than A Feeling, a song Nirvana have been accused of ripping off for their massive breakthrough hit). For the encore, the band performed more of their own songs, plus covers of Love Buzz and Smoke on the Water.
