Peterborough County OPP seize firearm, drugs in raid in Norwood

OPP raided a residence in Norwood and seized drugs and a firearm. Three men have been charged.

Drugs and a firearm were seized and three men were arrested following a police raid of a Highway 7 residence in the Village of Norwood on Wednesday afternoon.

Around 4 p.m., members of Peterborough County OPP’s Community Street Crime Unit and the Central Region Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant granted under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Officers found a shotgun and seized a number of drugs including Hydromorph Contin, cannabis resin and marijuana.

Arrested and charged at the scene were three men from Norwood:

  • Perry Jay Fawm, 51, is charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm; possession of a firearm while prohibited; possession of a schedule I controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (Hydromorphcontin); Production of a Schedule II controlled substance (Cannabis Resin); possession of a Schedule II controlled substance (marijuana over 30 grams) and breach of a probation order to not to possess illegal drugs or substances. Fawm remains in custody pending a show cause hearing in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough.
  • Anthony Motuzas, 73, is charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm and two counts of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance. He will appear in court in Peterborough on Aug. 21.
  • Timothy Motuzas, 33, is charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm and two counts of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance. He will appear in court on Sept. 21.
