Longtime animal rights activist Pamela Anderson has announced she’s pulling out of a vegan restaurant in the south of France just nine days after celebrating its grand opening.

The 50-year-old actress paired up with French chef Christophe Leroy for La Table du Marche (The Market Table) as a part of Leroy’s hotel, Les Moulins de Ramatuelle. The restaurant was opened on July 4 and will stay open for 50 nights only through mid-August.

Anderson posted her “disappointing news” on her website on Wednesday, citing the pop-up food spot did not meet “expectations or agreements” and alleging the mistreatment of staff. She did not provide further details of what led to her exit.

“Due to circumstances out of my control, I have to remove my name from the collaboration with Christophe Leroy,” she writes.  “I cannot condone the mistreatment of staff  or complete lack of respect.”

Only a week ago, Anderson was celebrating the launch of the restaurant, inviting guests to join her in the south of France.

“There are so many health benefits- vegan is NOT boring— please come see me at my restaurant … you won’t be let down,” she wrote.

Anderson had personally asked Leroy to create the menu for the new eatery, located not far from Saint-Tropez.

The announcement for the new business venture was revealed in an open letter to new French President Emmanuel Macron: “I am opening a new vegan restaurant in France in July, and I would like to extend my invite to the new President and his First Lady. Join me on the day I open the doors, and we will sit and eat good food and discuss what can be done for Julian. France could display its strength, and so could you, if you give Julian asylum.”

Dishes will include items like tomato tartare with Goji berries, traditional Provencal “petition farcis” which is a stuffed vegetable, an asparagus risotto and a vegan burger. A three course meal is priced around 80 euro.

La Table du Marche will open nightly after 6 p.m. until mid-August.
