Airdrie RCMP investigate Canada Day hit and run involving teen

Airdrie RCMP are investigating a hit and run on Canada Day that injured a teenage boy.

It happened in the intersection of Edmonton Trail and 3 Avenue at around 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 1.

Police said a 17-year-old was crossing the road on his bike when he collided with a red car.

The car, a red Dodge Charger, left the scene without stopping. Police believe it would have suffered front-end damage to the driver’s side.

The teen, who was in a crosswalk when the crash occurred, was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries.
