Hamilton police say a 68-year-old cyclist was seriously injured after being hit by an HSR bus Thursday afternoon.
It happened around 4:20 p.m. in the area of Bay Street South and Main Street East. Police say the bus had the right of way, and was proceeding eastbound on Main when the cyclist, who was heading northbound, entered the intersection.
Police say the man “struck the back half of the accordion style bus and was thrown from his bicycle.”
The victim, whose identity is not being released, suffered serious head trauma and was sent to hospital.
