Hamilton police have made a fourth arrest in a series of street robberies and reported carjackings.

An 18-year old from Hamilton has been charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of pointing a firearm. He’s due to appear in court today.

Tuesday, police arrested three teens in connection with a series of incidents involving three elderly women, a young woman, and a 12-year old boy.

Police think there may be similar incidents connected to this investigation and are asking anyone with information to call them or Crime Stoppers.

The first incident occurred last Thursday just outside the Best Buy store in the Ancaster Meadowlands.

Police said a woman in her 80s was robbed at gunpoint after a young man was hiding in the backseat of her vehicle. He drove her around the city and forced her to get money from an ATM before dropping her off unharmed.

The first incident Tuesday occurred at around 1 p.m. in the parking lot in front of the PetSmart store in the Meadowlands. A woman in her 70s noticed a man in the back seat of her car and was able to jump out and call for help. The suspect took off in a waiting vehicle.

A short time later, a similar incident occurred to a woman in her 80s in the parking lot of Limeridge Mall. She was robbed of cash by a young man claiming to have a gun.

Police say at about 8:00 Monday evening, a 12-year-old boy was confronted by four men in a dark vehicle who claimed to have a gun on Cranbrook Avenue. The boy was able to run home where his father called police.

Half an hour later, a woman was walking home from Mohawk College when she felt something at the back of her neck, according to police.

When she turned around a man was pointing a handgun at her and demanding her wallet. She was robbed of her wallet and cellphone. The male started to enter a waiting black vehicle but the vehicle fled before he could do so. The male fled eastbound from West 5th.

Police say investigators were able to identify the vehicle involved which led to the arrest of three teenagers.

A 15-year-old and a 16-year-old boy are charged with robbery and pointing a firearm. An 18-year-old man is facing additional charges of kidnapping and threatening death.

Stolen property along with an imitation pellet pistol believed used in the robberies have been recovered. None of the victims was injured in any of the incidents.
