A fifth person has been arrested after a second police raid at a downtown Toronto marijuana dispensary in three weeks.
Police say a search warrant was executed at Bellwoods Dispensary, near Dundas Street and Manning Avenue, around 8:10 p.m. Monday.
Officers allegedly seized 6,136 grams of marijuana, 218 grams of cannabis resin (hash), 7,629 grams of marijuana oil and 447 grams of cannabis resin (shatter).
About 10 minutes later, officers also executed a search warrant at a residence in the Queen Street and Strachan Avenue area.
Another 7,809 grams of marijuana was allegedly seized, along with 5,208 grams of marijuana oil and 45 grams of cannabis resin (shatter).
In total, police say over $32,000 was seized during the two search warrants.
Jeffrey Neil Donaldson, 42, of Toronto, has been charged with 16 offences including purpose for trafficking, possession of Schedule II substances, and possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000.
Monday’s raids echoed arrests made by Toronto police just three weeks earlier at the same dispensary. Four people are scheduled to make a court appearance later in April.
Bellwoods Dispensary posted a message on social media Tuesday saying, “Sorry to let you down #toronto,” and that they were closed until further notice.
