Highway 1 remains closed north of Yale this morning due to a rockslide.

The slide closed the highway about one kilometre north of Yale on Sunday night.

Emil Anderson Construction says some cars were damaged in the slide but no one was injured.

The B.C. Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure’s geotechnical team has been onsite and identified some rocks that are still loose and may come down at any time. Therefore, some rock scaling is required before Emil Anderson Maintenance crews and heavy equipment can clear the debris from the highway and reopen the road.
