A 63-year-old woman is in critical condition following a serious collision on Highway 6 this morning.

OPP Sergeant Kerry Schmidt says the crash involved a car that was making a left-hand turn at Book Road and a fully loaded fuel tanker, headed southbound.

“There is no fuel spill of any type here, of the load, which is fortunate,” Schmidt said in a video from the scene.

“Just speaking to investigators, they are saying they are going to have to off load nearly 50,000 litres of fuel before they can get this truck taken up out of the ditch.”

At the time of the collision, Schmidt says conditions were so foggy that trees in the surrounding area were not visible to motorists.
