A lengthy standoff between Las Vegas police and a gunman who barricaded himself on a bus ended Saturday with the suspect in custody.

One person was shot dead and another wounded on the bus, which was parked on Las Vegas Boulevard near the Cosmopolitan hotel-casino.

Police say there were no additional victims on the vehicle. Parts of the Las Vegas Strip remain closed off after the incident.

Earlier, guests at the Cosmopolitan hotel were asked to take shelter in their rooms, with the Las Vegas Review Journal  reporting the presence of SWAT personnel and hostage negotiation teams seen at the site

Earlier Saturday, three masked robbers looted a high-end jewelry store at the Bellagio Resort and Casino. There’s no indication that the two incidents are connected.
