An environmental response crew and the Coast Guard are attending the scene of a fuel spill in the Fraser River near Mission that occurred Friday afternoon.
The fuel is seeping from a sunken 40- to 50-foot boat, the Queen of East Vancouver.
Crews don’t know yet exactly how much fuel was on board or how much has leaked into the water, but a visible oil sheen can be seen on the river from the air.
The Western Canada Marine Response Cooperation and Canadian Coast Guard are on the scene.
