Country singer Keith Urban stops by Global News Morning ahead of ripCORD World Tour

The multiple Grammy Award winner joined Global News Morning last week to promote his upcoming ripCORD World Tour.

“It’s just expanded out and people have found the music they haven’t heard before, it’s finding a lot of new audiences,” Urban said about his 10th studio album, ripCORD.

Urban spoke about his time on American Idol, performing carpool karaoke with his wife, Nicole Kidman, and the influence his parents had on his career.

“You can leave school when you’re 15 in Australia and I said to my mother, ‘I want to leave school when I’m 15,'” he said.

“I was playing [music] five nights a week the second I left school, I was very lucky.”

He also showed off his singing capabilities as Global’s Laura Casella and Kim Sullivan sang along.

ripCORD World Tour will arrive at the Bell Centre on Aug. 12 at 8 p.m.
