Traffic is down to single-lane alternating on Trans Canada Highway near Sorrento while crews remove a semi-truck from the ditch.
A passing driver told Global News a semi-truck, filled with pork, slid of the road into the ditch. Roads in the area are reportedly icy.
Chase RCMP said the semi hit the ditch Tuesday night 18 kilometers east of the village. Police attended the scene, but have since left the crash site. Mounties couldn’t confirm if there were any injuries.
There’s no word on how long the vehicle removal will take, but the highway will remain single-lane alternating until it is complete.
