WATCH: A terrifying reminder about the benefits of carbon monoxide detectors, after six people in a home in Burnaby and two paramedics who came to their aid, almost died – Mar 7, 2017

At least eight people, including two paramedics, were sent to hospital for carbon monoxide poisoning following an incident at a Burnaby home Sunday night.

Emergency crews were called to a home on Venables Street after reports a woman had collapsed.

When they arrived they found several others in distress.

Six people from inside the home were rushed to hospital and two of them were unconscious.

Gas detectors found readings of carbon monoxide that were 10 times above acceptable levels.

Firefighters say this is a good reminder to have a carbon monoxide detector in your home.
