Provincial police have laid a second murder charge against a youth in a fatal fire at a group home in the Kawartha Lakes area last week.
The suspect was arrested after police responding to a report of a disturbance at the youth facility near the village of Oakwood on Friday found it on fire.
They say one person died in the fire and two others were taken to hospital — where an employee of the youth facility has died.

The suspect — who can’t be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act — is now charged with two counts of second degree murder and arson causing bodily harm.
The facility is operated by Connor Homes. A spokesperson previously said the other residents have been relocated while the police investigation continues.
