London Police are investigating after gunshots were heard over the weekend in the city’s northeast.

According to investigators, a resident contacted police around 6:45 p.m. Saturday reporting that they heard what they believed to be gunshots in the 1000 block of Huron Street, near Briarhill Avenue.

Officers attending the area didn’t find anything suspicious, and no witnesses to a possible shooting were located, police said.

Fast forward to Thursday, when police said they were contacted by another resident who reported they had found evidence that a gun had been fired in the same area.

At the scene, police found multiple shell casings and damage to a residence at 1077 Huron Street that police said was consistent with bullet holes.

“The scene was searched and examined, and the area was canvassed for witnesses,” said police in a media release on Friday. “Police have not uncovered any evidence to suggest that anyone was injured.”
