A few students on their way to school in L’Assomption had quite a scare Tuesday morning after their bus was involved in a traffic mishap.

The school bus, carrying four high school students, was travelling on Rang de la Savane — a snow-covered country road, according to police.

L’Assomption police spokesperson Sophie Légaré, said the driver steered the bus towards the shoulder to leave room for an oncoming vehicle, when it started leaning towards the ditch.

The bus came to rest at a 45 degree angle.

One student, who hit his head, was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure. There were no other reports of injury.
