Winnipeg Jets send Kyle Connor to Manitoba Moose

WINNIPEG – Rookie Kyle Connor has been sent down to the AHL’s Manitoba Moose following a disappointing start to his professional hockey career.

The 20-year-old forward has a single goal and three assists in 19 games with the Winnipeg Jets this season. He has been a healthy scratch the last five games.

Connor was named the Big 10 Player of the Year last season after scoring 35 goals and 36 assists in 71 games for the NCAA Division I’s University of Michigan Wolverines. He was also a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award for collegiate player of the year. Connor was signed by the Jets to a three-year, entry-level contract worth $5,325,000 inApril.

The American was selected 17th overall in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft by Winnipeg.

The Moose host the Cleveland Monsters on Friday and Saturday.
