In response to the Dec. 3 episode Trump tweeted: “Totally biased, not funny and the Baldwin impersonation just can’t get any worse.”

Baldwin, who plays the president-elect in the show, replied to the tweet saying he would agree to stop playing the character if Trump released his tax returns.

The issue of Trump’s tax returns is a recurring one. He refused to release them during the campaign, saying it was because he was being audited, despite the IRS saying it was allowed.

Then, a month before Election Day, the New York Times released an explosive report revealing that Trump reported he lost $915,729,293 in 1995 and could have gone 18 years without paying federal income taxes as a result.

Trump’s campaign did not deny the report but they threatened to sue the newspaper.

It’s not the first time Trump has slammed the actor for the impersonation. During the campaign, he said Baldwin’s portrayal “stinks” and said it was time to “retire the boring and unfunny show,” despite the fact he hosted an episode last season.

Baldwin has been playing Trump on SNL since the season began in September.
