Man who died in Regina house fire now a homicide, according to police

One man is facing charges after a weapons offence in North Central Regina on Wednesday night.

Regina police are treating a man who died in a house fire back in October as a homicide.

Firefighters responded to a large fire at a home in the 1500 block of McTavish Street early on Oct. 11. Police were called to assist at around 3:35 a.m.
Police along with the Office of the Chief Coroner said that 31-year-old Ryan Daniel Sugar who died in the house fire at 1555 McTavish street is now being treated as a homicide.

Fire crews found the body of a person inside the house. Police said the house was searched as well as they could be during the fire, given the extreme heat and instability of the structure.
