On Monday, police announced a teen taken into custody from the home was facing multiple charges including careless use of a firearm and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
Investigators believe the teen was under the influence of both drugs and alcohol when he picked up a handgun – which he didn’t know was loaded – and accidentally fired it, striking his sister.
The accused cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
