A police incident in a busy area of Kelowna Sunday afternoon brought out more than a dozen officers. Police surrounded the area around Parkinson Recreation Centre as they searched for a suspect of a stolen vehicle.
One officer on scene told Global News that the incident began when police attempted to pull over a driver. A short time later, police found the vehicle abandoned in the parking lot of the recreation centre.
A police canine unit was dispatched to the scene. Witnesses report seeing police scanning the area with binoculars. There’s no word if a suspect has been apprehended.
