RCMP are turning to the public for clues in the 2007 killing of a grandmother in Portage La Prairie. Charlene Ward was discovered dead in her home more than nine years ago.

On Oct. 31, 2007, Ward went out with friends to Cat & Fiddle Nite Club in Portage La Prairie. She then returned to her home with friends for a party that ended at eight the next morning.

Ward’s body was found at 8:45 a.m. in her home on 5th Avenue NE.

RCMP ruled Ward’s death a homicide but to date, no one has been arrested. Officers believe someone knows something and are asking anyone who can help find Ward’s killer to contact them at the RCMP tipline at 204-984-6447 or call Manitoba Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
