Icy roads may have been a factor in a two-vehicle fatal crash on Highway 35 near Tisdale, Sask.

The collision between a semi and a pickup truck happened Wednesday at around 12:30 p.m. approximately 23 kilometres south of the community.

The driver of the pickup, a 67-year-old Tisdale area man, was declared dead at the scene. His name is not being released at the request of his family.

The driver of the semi was assessed at the scene and released.

Tisdale RCMP said roads were icy and slush covered at the time of the collision.

Police continue to investigate.

Tisdale is approximately 195 kilometres northeast of Saskatoon.
