The Rachel Homan rink out of Ottawa won the Canad Inns Women’s Classic in Portage la Prairie Monday night.

Homan defeated Japan’s Chiaki Matsumura 9-4 in the final in just six ends for her second win on the World Curling Tour this season. Homan scored a deuce in the first end, four in the third end and three in the fifth end before cruising to victory.

It’s the first time Homan has won the Canad Inns Women’s Classic after EunJung Kim won in 2015.

Two Manitoba teams qualified for the playoffs but both Jennifer Jones and Shannon Birchard bowed out in the quarterfinals earlier on Monday.
