Paying it forward: Woman helped by On Rock food bank gives back after fighting cancer
Mary Scott has been diagnosed with three different types of cancer – three separate times.

Her last diagnosis was a few years ago, when doctors found a cancer on her duodenum, the first part of the small intestine, making it all but impossible for her to swallow.
It forced her to quit her job as a logistics manager.
She couldn’t take oral medication and instead, needed injections.
Scott explained the shots aren’t covered in Canada and cost $1,200 a month, leaving her in dire need of help.
“I was so grateful,” she told Global News.
A year ago, in an effort to give back, Scott started knocking on doors in her Pointe-Claire neighbourhood to collect food during the month of October to give to On Rock.
“You just never know when this could happen to you,” she said.
She collected 25 boxes of food last year — her first effort in paying it forward — and helped feed hundreds of needy families.
