It was a lucky afternoon for Timmy the horse on Monday after he became stuck in a water-filled ditch in Delta.
Delta Fire Rescue was called to a spot along 58 Avenue just before noon. It is not yet known how Timmy ended up stuck in the ditch.
The water was rising rapidly and crews had to work quickly to pump out the water and use a harness to hoist Timmy to safety.
A vet was on scene to check him out and it appears he will be OK after the ordeal.
A number of rescuers were also checked out by paramedics due to working in the cold water to rescue the stuck horse.
