WEST KELOWNA – The vehicle looked suspicious, and when police checked it out, officers arrested a wanted man.
West Kelowna RCMP responded Friday afternoon to the 3600 block of Gellatly Road when a civilian reported people sleeping in the parked Dodge Caravan.
It was stolen the day before in Penticton.
“RCMP officers arrested a man connected to the vehicle, believed to be under the influence of an intoxicating substance, who allegedly provided investigators with a false name,” said Cst. Jesse O’Donaghy in a news release. “The man was with two other women who were identified by police and released without charge.”
The 20-year-old Kelowna man who was arrested was wanted on several warrants out of Kelowna and Campbell River.
Chance Lennon Carson is in-custody accused of six new offenses including possessing stolen property and obstructing a peace officer.
