Surveillance video shows a hotel employee grabbing a weapon away from a woman during an attempted robbery after she became more focused on the money than the gun.
At around 5:45 a.m. on Oct. 13, a female suspect entered Victory Suites, a hotel in Warren Mich., and demanded money from the employee behind the counter.
As the man was seen giving the money to the robber, she momentarily let go of her handgun to collect the money.
The clerk quickly grabbed the weapon and turned it onto the female suspect. That’s when a fight between the two ensued.
According to NBC affiliate WDIV News, the handgun fell to the floor during the struggle but the clerk was able to kick it away.
WDIV went on to report guests at the hotel heard “multiple shots fired.”
The suspect was able to escape. However, the gun was registered so police were able to locate the woman.
The suspect is also accused of at least one other robbery.
The clerk was treated for minor injuries.
