17-year-old girl killed on Trans-Canada west of Headingley

WINNIPEG – A 17-year-old girl has died in a single vehicle collision on the Trans-Canada Highway west of Winnipeg.

The collision occurred east of Gaol Rd. at around 4:45 a.m. on Saturday.

The car was travelling eastbound when it hit the ditch and rolled.

The girl was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced deceased on scene.

She was the only person in the vehicle.

RCMP don’t believe alcohol was a factor but say it appears she was not wearing a seat belt.
