The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate, left their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, in Victoria Friday and set off on a 15-metre replica war canoe to the island of Haida Gwaii.

Kate, wearing a dark green blazer by Canadian brand Smythe, listened as William spoke at the Haida Heritage Centre and Museum. The couple talked with locals at the Haida Gwaii Hospital and Care Centre in the Village of Queen Charlotte, then joined young people from the Skidegate Youth Centre to fish on the waters of the Hectate Strait.
