It’s called the “best job ever offered” and starting on Oct. 12, people can apply to become the next Saskatchewanderer.
The Saskatchewanderer showcases Saskatchewan as the best province to live, work, play and visit, something the current Saskatchewanderer has embraced.
“Saskatchewan is a remarkably diverse province and over the past year I’ve had the privilege of experiencing that diversity first hand,” 2016 Saskatchewanderer Neil Fisher said.
“Exploring breathtaking landscapes, being immersed in our agricultural heart and being inspired by unique entrepreneurs – without question it’s the best job in Saskatchewan.”

Fisher, who was a cameraman at Global News Saskatoon prior to being named Saskatchewanderer, is being hailed as a terrific ambassador for the province.
“Through his travels as Saskatchewanderer, Neil has showcased the vast array of tourism experiences with stunning photography and informative narrative, and has appealed to a wide online audience,” said Jeremy Harrison, the minister responsible for Tourism Saskatchewan.
“We are so pleased to see that his efforts have significantly increased the program’s social media following on channels such as Instagram.”
Government officials said the combined number of followers on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram surpassed 50,000 in August.
Those interested in applying to become the next Saskatchewanderer can do so from Oct. 12 to noon on Nov. 7.
Applications must include a video, shot and edited by the applicant.
