A pedestrian was struck at an intersection in East Vancouver overnight.
The 73-year-old woman was hit at the intersection of East Hastings and Commercial Drive at 9:40 p.m. Thursday. She was crossing Hastings northbound at Commercial and police say it is believed she had a green light when she started to cross. However, she was walking slowly and did not make it to the other side before the light changed to green for vehicle traffic.

A 69-year-old man driving west on Hastings through the green light failed to see the woman in the street and struck her.
Emergency crews rushed the woman to hospital. She has severe injuries that are potentially life-threatening.
Police say alcohol is not a factor in the crash and the driver remained on scene.
