Hundreds of Sackville Minor Hockey players spent the day cleaning the streets of Lower Sackville N.S., on Sunday.
Organizers say the annual clean up event is a chance for youth, who count on the community throughout the hockey season for support and fundraising, to give back.
They see the cleanup as a way to say thank you to community members before the hockey season gets officially underway on Tuesday evening.
The Sackville Minor Hockey Association has been around since 1971. This year there are 750 players registered to play the game.
