Angelina Jolie has filed for divorce from Brad Pitt, ending their storybook relationship. The couple has been together since 2004, and were just officially married in 2014. They have six children together.

While there is a scarcity of information available, TMZ is reporting that Jolie filed for divorce due to Pitt’s “parenting of the children.” She was reportedly “extremely upset” with his methods.

She cited “irreconcilable differences” and has asked for physical custody of their six kids. She does not want Pitt to have joint physical custody, only joint legal custody — the difference being only one parent has both physical and legal custody of the child: in this case, Jolie.

The other parent (in this case, Pitt) may have visitation rights but does not have any custodial rights, and can’t make any decisions impacting the child.

While TMZ says that there is “no third person” involved in the split, other sources say that actress Marion Cotillard, who is Pitt’s co-star in the upcoming movie Allied, may have caused a rift between the couple.

Of course, Pitt and Jolie famously got together on the set of the 2005 movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith while Pitt was still married to actress Jennifer Aniston. Weeks after Aniston filed for divorce, Brangelina was born.

Jolie is being represented by Laura Wasser, whose other clients include Heidi Klum, Ashton Kutcher and Johnny Depp.

She has not filed for spousal support.

Pitt and Jolie have adopted three children, Maddox, 14, Pax, 12, and Zahara, 11, and welcomed three children of their own, 10-year-old daughter Shiloh and 8-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.

Pitt has not commented publicly about the divorce.
