Red Deer RCMP search for suspects after man shot in broad daylight

Red Deer RCMP are investigating the shooting of a 29-year-old man Thursday afternoon.

The man was shot in the shoulder while reportedly walking in the area of 41 Ave. and 51A St. in the Michener neighbourhood at around 2:20 p.m.

Police were called but officers didn’t find any suspects.

The victim was treated on scene before being taken to hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.

A few hours later, police found an unoccupied white Ford F150 truck believed to have been used during the shooting. It was found in the Mountview neighbourhood with a stolen license plate on it.

RCMP believe the victim was targeted.
