On Day 4 of the Royal Visit 2016, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited British Columbia’s interior for a whirlwind tour of a few special locations.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte did not travel with Prince William and Kate Tuesday.

Royal Visit Day 3 recap: The Duke and Duchess visit Bella Bella, B.C.

The royal couple’s only public event in the Okanagan was their arrival at UBC Okanagan just after 12:30 p.m. where they met students and watched an exhibition match with UBC’s nationally ranked women’s volleyball team. Hundreds of people gathered to get a glimpse of Will and Kate.

A public ceremony was held in the central courtyard at approximately 1:10 p.m. University staff warned it would be busy and asked everyone to take public transit to the event.

Prince William and Kate left the UBC Okanagan campus at about 1:40 p.m.

At about 2:10 p.m. the Duke and Duchess started taking part in the B.C. government’s Taste of British Columbia festival at a private event at Mission Hill Winery.

At the festival, the royals met with some of province’s top chefs, including Iron Chef Rob Feenie, restaurateurs Vikram Vij and David Hawksworth, along with California roll inventor Hidekazu Tojo, recently voted a goodwill ambassador for Japanese cuisine.

They took a walk through the vineyard, tasted grapes and William helped young chefs with a salad demonstration as he and Kate visited with the children.

The local young people are learning about potential careers in food and agriculture.

The royal couple enjoyed the stunning view onto Okanagan Lake before disappearing into the Mission Hill wine cellar.

Following the event at the winery, the couple flew to Whitehorse, Yukon, arriving just after 6 p.m. They were greeted by members of the Canadian Rangers and met some of the young people who serve in the Junior Canadian Rangers.

Upon arrival, they attended a cultural performance at the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre. Their Royal Highnesses will stay in Whitehorse overnight.
