A 26 year old man is dead following a crash on Highway 2, in Leduc.
Leduc RCMP were called to the single vehicle collision on the Black Gold Overpass on Highway 2, just south of 50th Avenue, around 7:30 Thursday evening. EMS and fire crews were also called in to assist.
Witnesses say a 2008 Dodge Ram was travelling south when it struck the guardrail and became air bourn before hitting a pole and rolling down the embankment.
The man, who RCMP say was from Leduc, was the only person in the vehicle at the time. RCMP say he succumbed to his injuries on scene.
Officers do not believe alcohol was a factor in the collision.
Highway 2 was closed near the 50th Avenue exit for a short period of time, Thursday night.
The victim’s name has not been released at this time.
