A house under construction in the community of Mount Pleasant was destroyed by a fire on Tuesday.

Firefighters were called to the corner of 4 Street and 30 Avenue N.W. just after 3 a.m.

The Calgary Fire Department said work on the structure, which was surrounded by a tall fence, had recently stopped.

No injuries were reported.

“The initial report from neighbours was that there was no one living in there,” Calgary Fire Department District Chief Tom Guterson said.

Investigations will be working to determine the cause of the fire.
